GPX to STL
Turn a GPX file into a 3D-printable model of your route
The studio above builds a terrain model of the exact ground your route crossed, with your GPS line raised above the real hills, and gives you STL and 3MF files to print at home or send to a print service. Free, and no account needed.
How it works
- Drop a GPX file onto the studio. Here's how to export one from Strava, Garmin, Coros or Apple Watch.
- Relic fetches elevation data for the area and builds a terrain mesh around your route.
- Choose the shape, size and style, and add your name, race and stats to the frame.
- Download the print files and slice them in your usual slicer.
Printing tips
- Print the terrain flat on the bed; the map itself usually needs no supports.
- Use a contrasting colour for the trail and lettering by printing those parts separately.
- Finer layers (0.12 mm) show gentle terrain better; 0.2 mm is fine for mountains.
Questions
STL and 3MF files of the terrain with your route raised above it, ready for any slicer, plus a PNG of the framed design. The frame and lettering come as separate STLs so you can print them in a different colour.
Any FDM printer that can print PLA or PETG. Pick a model size that fits your print bed; layer heights of 0.12–0.2 mm bring out the terrain best.
